So my boyfriend had an english assignment to write a ballad. Being the creative genius I am, I offered to write it for him. He's not the most poetic person. So here's what I came up with.
Before the Dawn

I told her tales of kingly lore
on starry nights with candles low.
and in the wake of love's first light
her dark eyes seemed to glow.
"Do you love me laughing angel?"
She said, "I'm not sure I know."
Oh say you love me before the dawn
when a colder wind will blow.
A colder wind will blow.
She sang to me of summer and spring
I told her about the war
and how I'd have to leave her side
when night turns into morn.
"Do you love me laughing angel?"
she said, "I might think so."
Oh say you love me before the dawn
when I'll be forced to go.
oh I'll be forced to go.
"I know you love me my weeping angel.
Don't cry because I'm gone.
I heard you whisper in my ear
just before the dawn."

Reading it objectively, I like it
hmm, I like it, I like it alot.
P.S: that's the title of an evanescence song, lol.
very good Cala. It's short and sweet
lol I know it's an ev title. It has significance to us. And if you're a DR. Who buff, the weeping angel part is a reference.
